Federated Farmers Fight Against Ridiculous Taxes Rally Tuesday, Sep 2, 2003
Federated Farmers is holding a rally to protest against the Government’s proposed agricultural emissions tax in Wellington on Thursday 4 September.
Farmers and their supporters will gather in Civic Square at 11am, and will then march down Mercer St, Willis St and Lambton Quay arriving at Parliament at 12.45pm.
Federated Farmers President Tom Lambie will present the petition that has been gathering support from all over New Zealand calling on Parliament to abandon the proposed emissions research tax.
Guest speakers include Agriculture Spokesmen David Carter – National, Gerry Eckhoff – ACT, Doug Woolerton - NZ First, Ian Ewan-Street - Greens, National Leader Bill English and United Future Leader Peter Dunne. Hon Pete Hodgson and Hon Damien O’Connor have also been invited to speak.
