USDA Market News IMPORT BEEF TRADE Sunday, Aug 10, 2003
(Australia and New Zealand) - Compared to Wednesday, import boneless beef prices continued to trend higher. This was caused by very good demand as imported products were more advantageous to blend with the sharply higher lower lean percentage domestic products. In addition, the spread between domestic lean products and imported 90% cow narrowed as the domestic market finished the week at lower prices. Moreover, very light spot and out-front supplies also fuelled the upward price move.
