USDA Market News IMPORT BEEF TRADE

(Australia and New Zealand) - Compared to Friday, import boneless beef prices were traded steady to firm as grinders seek leaner products for grinding formulation due to reduced cow slaughters, coupled with U.S./ Canada border being closed until the B.S.E. issue is settled. Demand light to moderate as grinders use inventory on moderate offerings.
